Aliso is a nice property with great amenities and modern looking units. Huge shout out to the staff, especially Maggie! She has been so helpful from the start. Maggie is very knowledgeable about the property, provided a great tour, and made our moving journey a breeze. Definitely recommend checking this place out!
Absolutely horrible experience with this place. My girlfriend and I have been getting locked out almost every month because the door reader keeps breaking.
We were locked out one night and emergency maintenance numbers were rejecting all calls, leasing office numbers wouldn’t pick up, and surrounding staff said they couldn’t help.
Spoke with a property management agent who said there was nothing they could do, and had no recommendations for us. So simply locked out of our apartment numerous times and you have to wait for next business day for *hopefully* someone to fix it.
Outside of that, there’s always a mix of broken garage doors and elevators.
For the price, it’s just completely unreasonable service.
EDIT: It has been 5 weeks since the last lockout. We were asked in person 4 weeks ago to send an email to management summarizing the experience we have had the previous months, and were told they would make sure we got a response and see if we could get a credit. We sent the email the day of the request, and have been awaiting a response for 4 weeks.
But glad to see they responded on this review within a few days of posting.
Nice interior decoration, but the rental charged us two months 'rent as a deposit, and we still haven't received the deposit 8 months after check-out. Our friends who live in the same neighborhood are getting the same problem.
Every time I ask about the progress of the deposit refund, the apartment management will only say that the previous management company has not returned. But they had been taking over the apartment since May, and by December they still hadn't finished filing all the resident documents. It really makes people feel this speed. Every time I went to the office, the manager told us that we could send the check to me soon, but from September to December. Never received it.
The management of the apartment is not good, and you will be woken up by the fire alarm in the middle of the night. And if the key is lost, it needs to cost $200 to replace it, but the contract says that the new key only costs $70 when you check out. You will have a trainer in the gym to take people continuously to the gym. And a hallway full of trash.
This is a very friendly complex right in the middle of everything in the Arts District. Great restaurants, coffee and bars nearby but not grocery so that's one thing to consider. The gym is also great. Josh at the leasing office really did a great job in helping us secure the apartment and went above and beyond in making sure that we had everything covered.
Aliso is the perfect property in Arts District. The accessibility to everything in the community is such a perk. The staff in the building is beyond helpful and always a bright light to see everyday! I absolutely love the pet friendliness of the building and cannot say enough good things.
If you are looking to move to one LA’s top rated areas to live, Aliso in the Arts District is the place to go.
I recently toured Aliso for my mom who is trying to relocate to the Arts District in Los Angeles. We had the pleasure to tour with “Maggie Rocha”. It was such a great experience to tour with her. Amazing customer service and attentive to our needs. She answered all the questions we had and we are looking forward to calling Aliso home soon for mom!
Maggie was so great !
Thank you for your time and energy!
I’ve been living here for around a year.
This apartment was pretty good before the new management company took over. Nowadays it has some issues like all the reviews mentioned: my monthly payment raised up without notifying, elevator is broken, fire alarm system running during late night and early morning, they won’t help when you lock your key inside home.
The rent and “service fee” we paid, are not worth what we get. If you like Arts District/ little Tokyo location, it’s a great location to stay. But if the management/ service maters for you, be aware of it.
This property is stunning and has incredible amenities - and right in the Arts District! It has such great spots that are easy to get to. On top of that, the leasing team is very nice and so helpful. They really go the extra mile. I could not recommend more!
